Adventure Trips

What are Adventure Trips? We’re glad you asked

Camp Greenville’s Adventure Trips are specific sessions of our summer camp program that take camp on the road. Our adventure trips take Camp Greenville all over the Upstate of South Carolina, Western North Carolina, and East Tennessee exploring white water rivers, caves, waterfalls, mountain peaks, and amazing hiking trails with beautiful views. Our trips campout in tents and tarps at established campsites throughout the areas extensive State and National public lands.

Adventure campers spend the first few days learning skills, packing gear and coming together as a group before setting out on the road. Our trips are designed to help campers push their comfort zones and be able to find self-discovery while surrounded by the best trained staff and supportive friends.

On their adventure trip, campers will learn to set up tents and tarps, cook on a camp stove, tie knots, sleep outside, build confidence, contribute to a team, build a campfire, and all while having amazing experiences in the outdoors. See below for dates and descriptions for each of our trips.

Mini Adventure! 3rd and 4th Grade Only

June 10th – June 13th

This three-day mini camp is a great way for D1 campers rising into 3rd or 4th grade to experience what an adventure trip at Camp Greenville is like. The Mini Adventure campers never leave our property, but get to hike away from the main program area and campout at one of our remote campsites on our 1,400 acres. This will prepare them for a week long session in Division 2. Campers will swim, paddle, climb, cook over a campfire, and sleep out under the stars.

10th, 11th, and 12th Grade

Division 4 trips come in two different lengths: 1 week or two week trips.

Our White Water Rafting Adventure trip is a one week trip, with Monday through Thursday nights spent off site and Sunday and Friday nights spent at camp.

Our other two trips offered for D4, Monk’s Ultimate and Outback, are both two weeks long.

Monk’s Ultimate is a completely offsite expedition that travels across the Carolinas while exploring along the way. The majority of the trip is spent camping on beaches and swimming in oceans.

Outback is our must intensive trip we offer at camp. This two week session combines the highlights of many of our other adventure trips into one. Campers will be based out of our Outback Village while they restock and refresh between mini trips like white water rafting, hiking the Appalachian trail, and canoeing the French Broad River. These experiences will prepare campers for a 24 hour solo experience on our 1,400 acres.
