April Camper Updates

[This information applies specifically to registered summer camp participants, and was sent via email to registered families on April 10.]


This is Stacie again, dropping into your inbox to help you prepare for summer! This message is JAM-PACKED with useful information and must-do tasks, so read carefully. 
This month, we’re launching... the fun stuff (like exclusive pre-order merch, and spring tours), and the to-do list (including required forms and account payments). 
 
To do: Required Forms (all campers) - due May 5

  • Health History Form - all campers

    • We do not require a physical exam or physician's signature

    • You will need to know the date of your child's last Tetanus shot

  • Information for Cabin Leader - all campers

    • This form is given directly to your child's cabin leader before your arrival

  • Permission and waiver for Nantahala Outdoor Center - D3 Adventure campers only

  • Permission and waiver for Saluda Outdoor Center - D2 and D3 Adventure campers only

  • To access forms in your parent portal, follow these instructions:

    • Go to www.campgreenville.org, and click on "Parent Login"

    • After logging in, click "Forms & Documents"

    • Under each camper's name, look for the required forms listed above, and any optional forms that would apply to your family

Special forms note for Adventure Campers: Campers attending an adventure program will see additional forms from our program partner outdoor centers. Your camper may or may not participate in either or both of these on-site programs, depending on weather, program schedule, etc. However, forms are required for all registered adventure campers regardless of program plans, as plans could change.  

To do: Account Payments (all campers) - due April 15
While you’re logged into your parent portal, check the Financial section for your family’s remaining balance due. You may add a payment via your account at any time. If you set up a payment plan at the time of registration, all final payments are already scheduled for April 15. 

Scholarships are available for camper families with limited resources, and financial assistance is available for families facing temporary hardships. Please complete the “Financial Assistance” form within your Parent Portal under Forms & Documents as soon as possible to request assistance.
 
FUN: Pre-order-only Exclusive Camper Merch - deadline April 22
Pre-orders are open now for our camper exclusive pre-order only Camp Greenville merch drop!
Grab a crazy creek camp chair with the YCG logo for $62 in maroon or mint, and a water bottle customized with your camper's first name engraved for $35 in blue or berry. The best news? No shipping cost, because we'll hand-deliver to your camper on Sunday of their session.
FYI for past campers: these items are replacing the "care package" we have offered in recent years.

FUN: New Camper Family Tours at Camp
Visit camp for a tour, see where campers sleep/eat/play, ask questions, and even see camp in action — because we’ll have family group programs happening at the same time. Click here to sign up for an in-person tour at Camp Greenville on select dates in April and May.

FUN: Chat with a Camp Director (virtual)
We’ve set aside some special times to chat with your family via one-on-one virtual meeting. Share your excitement, ask ALL THE QUESTIONS, and help us get to know you and your family better. Click here to sign-up for a family virtual session on select evenings in April and May.

INVITE: Camp Volunteer Work Day - this Saturday!
We are still in need of about 20 volunteers to assist with projects at camp this Saturday. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Check out the details and RSVP here.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • April 12, 12pm: Deadline to make changes to payment method for April 15 payment plan installment

  • April 15: Monthly payment plans will be processed, and all account balances are due

  • April 22: Deadline to pre-order water bottle and crazy creek camp chair

  • May 5: All forms due in the Parent Portal

  • May 10 email will include: camp app access, camp store accounts, packing list, check-in/out info, medication info, and more!

As we get closer to the summer, we know questions may arise. Common questions are already answered on our FAQ page. Soon we'll add the updates for 2024 for check in and check out times, bringing your campers medication, schedule overview and more. View the entire list of resources HERE and if there is info you need that is not on here, just ask!
