Best Friends: Tabitha and Tiffany

Two best friends’ story of love and kindness, in celebration of National Best Friend Day, June 8!

Tabitha Edwards and Tiffany Weatherly Bonino have been best friends for 36 years. In the past year, Tiffany lost her dad to cancer and, only 6 weeks later, lost her younger brother too. Shortly after the new year, Tabitha had asked her BFF if she had any bucket list places she’d like to visit. Tiffany responded: Pretty Place Chapel. Tabitha had never heard of Pretty Place before, and was curious to learn more: she said when she had been going through some other hard times she had googled “closest place to be near to God” and Pretty Place Chapel is what popped up.

After discussing it with her husband, Tabitha decided they wanted to take Tiffany to the Chapel for her birthday - as a surprise! Tabitha did some research and noticed that the chapel stays busy and books up for weddings this time of year. In February, she reached out to Angie, the Chapel Event Coordinator, and told her the story, asking how to book a private viewing event.

A couple emails later, Tabitha booked the day and time, but kept it a secret. They planned an entire day, taking Tiffany to Biltmore during day, and then told her it was long drive back to the hotel. It wasn’t until she saw the Pretty Place Chapel signs that she eventually caught on.

They were able to schedule a sunset time block, and it was totally worth it!

Tabitha shared, “You can not even find words to how beautiful it was when we arrived. She was able to give all her burdens and pain over to God and just spend time in the beautiful mountains he created.”

When Tiffany learned that we wanted to share their friendship story in celebration of National Best Friends Day on June 8, she replied, “The world needs more stories of love and kindness”. We agree.
