Staff Attend YMCA Campfire Conference

Camp Greenville staff and fellow youth programs staff from our YMCA of Greenville Association spent January 22-24 at the beautiful YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly for the 2024 YMCA Campfire Conference.
The Campfire Conference is an opportunity for YMCA Camp professionals to gather together to share, learn, and have lots of fun within community.
A big high-five to our very own De-Quan Williams, who served on the Campfire Conference planning committee this year!
DAY 1: Summer staff alumni visited as expert panelists, led in discussion by Director of Camping, Jenna Johnson, and Director of Adventure Programs, Mark Moseley.
The session, titled “You Heard It Here: A Conversation ABOUT Summer Staff WITH Summer Staff”, focused on the keys to recruitment/retention for the current generation of college-age employees
There were about 40 camp directors and program professionals in the audience, learning from our seasonal staff’s perspectives and experiences.
We’re very grateful for the summer staff panelists, and their ability to articulate their personal experiences as seasonal camp staff members. DAY 2:
Jenna Johnson, Camp Greenville’s Director of Camping, led the Women’s Leadership panel discussion.
Alexandra Beavers, Director of Camper + Family Programs, led an educational session called “Achieving Excellence in Programming: The Art of Never Missing Budget.
