Summer Cave Crawl
Prepare for an unforgettable journey into the heart of the earth with our D3 Caving Adventure Trip for teens currently in 6th-8th grades (rising 7th-9th grade this summer)! If you’re ready to get muddy, wet, and experience the awe-inspiring beauty of nature’s hidden wonders, this adventure is for you.
(Note: Cave dirt WILL stain clothing, backpacks, and shoes—pack accordingly!)
Kick off your adventure with a drive through Western North Carolina and into East Tennessee for an overnight stay in the legendary Lost Sea Cave. Campers will take both the commercial tour and an exhilarating wild cave tour, filled with muddy crawls and awe-inspiring formations that will leave you amazed.
Start the day with a hike on the Appalachian Trail. Scale the iconic bald mountains for panoramic, 360-degree views of both North Carolina and Tennessee. After soaking in some of the most breathtaking vistas in the Southeast, head to Roan Mountain State Park for a night of camping under the stars.
Prepare for a full day of spelunking at Worley’s Cave in Northeast Tennessee. You’ll explore fascinating cave formations while learning about the underground ecosystem through hands-on cave crawls. Expect to get muddy and wet as you dive deep into this immersive caving experience. In the evening, travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway and set up camp at Linville Falls Campground.
Take a scenic road trip back to base camp along the Blue Ridge Parkway, with stops to enjoy the stunning mountain views along the way. The adventure ends with a sweet stop at Dolly’s Dairy Bar in Brevard, NC, for some well-earned ice cream. Return to camp in time to clean up from your trip and put away your gear, freshen up with a hot shower, enjoy a fun Themed Dinner, and celebrate with the Camper Show and Closing Campfire Traditions.
This is your chance to explore the unknown and experience the thrill of caving like never before! Sign up today for a one-of-a-kind adventure you’ll never forget!
