Growing Adventure Programs Offer Thrills for Campers
As interest in outdoor experiences continues to rise, Camp Greenville is answering the call with a rapidly expanding Adventure program designed to immerse campers in thrilling and challenging activities. Offering something for everyone, from beginner explorers to seasoned adventurers, this program has quickly become a highlight for campers seeking excitement and connection with nature.
The Adventure program now includes a wide variety of trips tailored to different skill levels and interests. For younger campers or those newer to outdoor adventures, programs like Division 2 Adventure (for rising 5th-6th graders) provide day trips filled with tubing, waterfall hikes, and explorations of nearby state forests, while camping out at the old horse barn field. We have also expanded our D2 Adventure programs with now two groups every week!
More advanced campers (rising 7th-9th graders) can participate in multi-day trips such as the Whitewater Adventure, which features progressive rafting experiences on iconic rivers like the Nantahala and Ocoee, or the Lakes and Rivers Adventure, where canoeing and tubing across scenic lakes and rivers offer both challenge and relaxation. We also have our Caving Adventure Trip, Bike and Climb Adventure and our BRAND NEW Water and Sky Adventure! Campers will explore some of the most iconic and beautiful waterfalls in the southeast while also experiencing the landscape from up high on a massive canopy Zip Line tour over the Green River Gorge and High Ropes Adventure Parks.
For the ultimate experience, the two-week Monks Ultimate trip takes Division 4 campers (rising 10th-12th graders) on a Florida expedition filled with beach camping, tubing, and even visits to NASA. Meanwhile, the Outback Adventure pushes limits with backpacking, night rappelling, and canoeing, perfect for campers seeking an immersive wilderness experience.
With a focus on building confidence, teamwork, and outdoor skills, this growing program is designed not only to challenge campers physically but also to foster a lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors. Each adventure culminates in beloved camp traditions like a stop at Dolly’s Dairy Bar and our Closing Campfire ceremonies, leaving campers with lasting memories and the thrill of their accomplishments.
As the program expands, camp continues to introduce new destinations and activities, ensuring that the Adventure program will keep growing along with the campers.
