November 2022 Edition: Mountain View News

A mission to continue the tradition

Thoughts by Cory Harrison, Camp Greenville Executive Director

Not too long ago I was working on a project in the Camp Greenville archive room. It's a small room, but large for a closet. It's mysterious, awe-inspiring, and relatively organized. It smells of old photos and newspaper clippings. It's the most extensive collection of camp history I've seen in my career. And it was there that I opened a box and found the winter 1990 edition of the Mountain View News. A simple but effective camp newsletter.

The opening article was from Greg Mckee, newly hired camp director. The title of his article was A Mission...to continue the tradition.

In my 7 years as Executive Director of Camp Greenville, we've done many things to "continue the traditions of camp." I'll use this platform to tell you about some of them. I can't yet say when The Mountain View News originally started. I can't even say when the most recent one was. What I can say is, "Welcome back to Mountain View News."
