Weekly Trip Breakdown

Campers in adventure sessions will spend the night sleeping in cabins or at pack out locations while at camp. If they are in a division that does off site trips, they will be camping each night at various locations near their daily trip locations. Activities during the week can be physically strenuous and exposed to the outdoors. Make sure your camper is set up for success with sturdy walking shoes, a warm sleeping bag, dry rain gear, and a pack to put it all in.

Campers will have 3 separate raft experiences through the NOC which will take them to test the waters in both individual and group rafting. This adventure trip is a one-week session with the exception that campers only spend two nights on camp property and four nights off site. This schedule is unique to just this trip.

  • Monks Ultimate

(Despite the name, this trip is not only for campers who are “Monks Old Timers” but anyone D4 age)

This trip will start at the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Cherokee NC. Explore the national parks, forests, and wilderness area along the blue ridge mountain and coming off the parkway in Boone, NC. The trip then heads east, taking a route across the state of North Carolina. You will swim, canoe, hike, ride, and play, all while experiencing all that the state has to offer from the mountains to the beach. Camp along the way while making friends and memories that will last far beyond the duration of the trip.

  • D4 Outback

This two-week adventure program is designed to incorporate many of the adventure trips and the unique aspects of the Outback trip into an impactful session. Participants will stay in our Outback Village and take trips to nearby areas to participate in the following activities: Backpacking along the Mountains to Sea Trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway, white water rafting, night rapelling off Pretty Place Chapel, and overnight canoeing the French Broad River.

This trip is designed to give campers a taste for overnight extensive trips and less car camping like the Whitewater Adventure or Monk’s Ultimate trips.
