January Camper Updates

[This information applies specifically to registered summer camp participants, and was sent via email to registered families on January 10.]


Happiest New Year to you and your family! We hope the holiday season was restful and fun, and full of great family memories!

We are so excited that it is finally 2024 because that means the summer countdown can officially begin! We are 5 months away from the first day of Summer Camp 2024 for Session 1 campers. It seems so far away but will be here before you know it.

So what happens this time of year at camp? A lot actually! 
Although it is winter, we are in heavy reset and prep mode. On the operations side of camp; the maintenance team is busy with larger time-intensive projects, the kitchen team gets organized and plans our yummy menus, and Pretty Place Chapel weddings and visitors are busier than ever.
On the program side of camp, we are building the summer staff team, fine-tuning parts of the summer schedule, booking adventure trips, and implementing new ideas and changes!
Long story, short: we’re getting ready for your arrival this summer - already!

Another fun thing happening is the preparation for our yearly family camps. Registration opens next week for the 2024 season. If you're curious about these programs, check them out on our website. Spend time on the mountain and experience camp with the entire family. All ages are welcome! IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Finances: If you did not pay-in-full at the time of registration, you are enrolled in a monthly payment plan, and the next scheduled auto-payment is January 15 (next Monday). Because January 15 is a banking holiday, your payment will be processed on Tuesday, January 16 this month. If you would like to change your account payment source, please contact our office and we can take care of that for you! You can also DIY it in your Parent Portal under "Financial Management".

  • Cancellations and Refunds: Our refund procedures change on January 15. I am including our cancellation and refund procedures below for easy reference, but you can find additional details on the FAQ page of our website. If you think you may need to cancel, please be aware of this deadline to receive a full refund.

    • REFUND POLICY: If you realize you must cancel (at any time), you are required to notify the camp office in writing via email to Stacie Simpson, including any relevant information that might be used to determine refund eligibility.

      • Before January 15, 2024, our summer camp cancellation and refund policy is very flexible. If your circumstances change, just let us know, and we'll provide you with a refund, less your $100 deposit per camper per session.

      • Between January 15 and March 15, 2024, a cancellation for any reason will result in a 50% refund of fees paid to date.

      • Between March 16 and May 15, 2024, refund requests for circumstances beyond your control (such as family relocation, serious injury/illness, emergency hardships, etc) will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

      • After May 15, 2024, no refunds can be provided for any reason.


WHAT'S NEXT?
As we get further into the winter and spring we will be sending out specific summer information as it relates to summer details (packing list, themes, etc).
For now, here is a general timeline of what to expect when:

  • January 14, 12pm: Deadline to make changes to your monthly payment plan details before payments are processed on January 16.

  • February: Forms (ie; health history etc) will become available. Don’t worry - we’ll let you know and send instructions.

  • March: Summer Weekly Themes will be announced and a packing list will be sent.

  • April: Meet the summer team and camp prep information will be provided.

  • April 15: Last payment of all payment plans.

  • May 5: All forms due online.


FUN NEWS!
Staff hiring is well underway for the summer season, and we're getting so excited about the team! If you know anyone interested in working at camp, please invite them to check out the info on our website here, and apply soon before spots are all filled. We still have openings for Adventure Trip Leaders, Male Cabin Leaders, and Program Lifeguards.
