Jenna Johnson Promoted to Associate Executive Director
Jenna Johnson, former Director of Camping for YMCA Camp Greenville, has been promoted to the role of Associate Executive Director, and will now oversee all programs and operations of the Camp Greenville branch of the YMCA of Greenville. Jenna has served YMCA Camp Greenville for 10 years.
Jenna began her career in youth development for a Colorado city Parks and Recreation Department. While there, she had the life changing realization that a career in overnight camping was possible. Jenna followed her camp dream to Iowa and then to Camp Greenville in 2014 where she started as the Summer Camp Director and then eventually the Director of Camping.
Over the past 10 years, Jenna has played a pivotal role in shaping the experiences of countless campers, staff, and families. She is proud to have been a part of Camp Greenville’s incredible growth while still honoring history and traditions.
In her expanded role, Jenna supervises 6 full-time direct reports: Director of Base Camp and Family Programs (Alex Beavers), Director of Adventure Camp and Trip Programs (Mark Moseley), Director of Leadership Programs (De-Quan Williams), Director of Business and Communications (Stacie Simpson), and Director of Operations (Marc Wilson). Functionally, she ensures the smooth operation all camp programs, property, food service, Pretty Place Chapel, and budget management for YMCA Camp Greenville.
Jenna shares, “I am humbled and excited to now serve as the Associate Executive Director and I’m committed to continuing camp’s incredible legacy and helping lead the magic that this mountain provides.”
Jenna lives on camp property with her husband Kyle, son Daxton, and their dog Ames. Jenna likes to spend her non-camp time hiking, reading, or traveling with her family. Her favorite part of the camp week is closing campfire, favorite activity is anything at the waterfront, and her favorite meal is Sunday dinner because the buzz in the dining hall at the start of each week is the best thing ever!
Please join us in congratulating Jenna in her new role!
