Pretty Place Chapel Re-Opened with Expanded Parking

The Fred W. Symmes “Pretty Place” Chapel, located at YMCA Camp Greenville, re-opened today after being closed for renovations since January 23. Upgrades included the installation of two new gravel parking sections along the sides of the road leading to the existing Chapel parking lot, which will hold an additional 46 vehicles.

Re-opening after the parking lot expansion marks the successful completion of Phase 1 of YMCA Camp Greenville’s Pretty Place Chapel Accessibility Campaign. The Y seeks the public’s support in raising the next $100,000 (of total $280,000 for the 4-phase project) to kick off Phase 2, which include the addition of 2 new permanent restroom facilities available to the public.

In the spirit of accessibility which covers all 4 phases of the project, the new restrooms will be wheelchair accessible and family-style/gender-neutral.

As always, be sure to check the Visitation Schedule for open hours before planning your visit to Pretty Place Chapel.
