What’s New: Registration Process Updates

Returning camper families,

Here’s everything that’s new or different for the registration process in 2024! We’re sharing the round-up of SIX things you need to know to prepare for the registration process.

Number 1: Registration opening in waves!

There are three different registration opening dates for different campers. Learn which date your family is eligible to register here: https://www.campgreenville.org/mountainviewnews/2024opening

Number 2: A new Parent Portal

You’ll still access your parent portal through the “Parent Login” button on our website, but the Parent Portal has a new look! And you’ll need to setup a new password. Find the instructions here: https://www.campgreenville.org/mountainviewnews/prepare-acct23

Note: the new parent portal will refer to your registration process as your camper’s “application”. All applications will be automatically approved and registered, as long as there is capacity in your camper’s grade Division for that session. Think of the “application” as your registration forms.

Number 3: Register one camper at a time

In our previous parent portal, you could add sessions for all the campers in your household to your cart and then “checkout” for the whole family. The new parent portal works a little different: you’ll fully complete the registration for one of your campers, including paying the deposit, before starting the registration for your next camper.

We know this isn’t ideal for families with multiple campers, and you might worry about sessions filling up. Keep in mind that because we’re implementing the registration in waves, there will be less families attempting to register at the same time.

If the first camper you register gets a spot in a session and another one of your household campers is on a waitlist, please contact our office as soon as possible. We may be able to help with these situations.

Number 4: Updated process for cabinmate requests

Experiencing camp with friends is amazing! And meeting new friends at camp is just as wonderful! At Camp Greenville, we want campers to enjoy a mix of both.

When completing registration, you may enter the names of up to 3 cabinmate requests for each camper. Cabinmates can only be placed together if they are same gender and age division. We will make every effort to honor these 3 cabinmate requests, but they are not guaranteed. If larger groups are requested, they most likely will be divided into separate cabins with smaller friend groups in each.

If you’re not sure which friends are attending camp right away, that’s ok. You can skip this section when registering. Cabinmate requests may be added or changed until 2 weeks prior to your session.

Number 5: Updated cancellation and refund procedures

If you realize you must cancel (at any time), you are required to notify the camp office in writing via email. Additional information about this process, as well as guidelines for campers being dismissed from sessions, is available on our FAQ page.

The cancellation and refund schedule will be:

  • Before January 15, 2024, our summer camp cancellation and refund policy is very flexible. If your circumstances change, just let us know, and we'll provide you with a refund, less your $100 deposit per camper per session.

  • Between January 15 and March 15, 2024, a cancellation for any reason will result in a 50% refund of fees paid to date.

  • Between March 16 and May 15, 2024, refund requests for circumstances beyond your control (such as family relocation, serious injury/illness, emergency hardships, etc) will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

  • After May 15, 2024, no refunds can be provided for any reason.

More information about refund eligibility is available on our FAQ page.

Number 6: Arrive on time; Depart on time.

When selecting your sessions, please keep the program start and end days/times in mind. To help you prepare, we’re providing the following information:

  • All programs run from 4:00pm on Sunday through 9:00am on Saturday.

  • Dropoff on Sunday is from 2:30-4:00pm.

  • Pickup on Saturday is from 9:00-9:45am.

  • No early or late dropoffs or pickups will be allowed.

We’ve specifically designed the start and end of the week to support smooth transitions into camp and from camp back into home life.

Exceptions cannot be made for sports tryouts/meets/tournaments, for family vacations, etc. Please plan your schedule accordingly. The cancellation and refund policies will apply if your camper cannot attend their full session.

If at any point you realize the camp schedule will not work in your family schedule, you must contact the camp office immediately in writing via email. More information about this topic is available on our FAQ page.
