Camp Property Trails Widened
Throughout March and April, Blazing Trails NC cleared and widened miles of trails throughout the YMCA Camp Greenville property. The widened trails will not only provide an enjoyable and convenient hiking experience for campers and staff, but will also ensure continued safety for campers.
Volunteers Needed: April 13
Join the Camp Greenville Staff and Board of Directors on April 13 for a day of service, preparing the YMCA Camp Greenville property for spring and summer programs. Projects include: cabin cleaning, wood splitting, packout site prep, power washing, general camp cleanup, picnic table staining, and more. All ages are welcome! Registration required.

Who’s getting excited about summer?! Our team of camp directors are counting down the days until your arrival! We heard you loud-and-clear: you want to come visit camp! We’re adding FIVE tour days to the calendar!
Visit camp for a tour, see where campers sleep/eat/play, ask questions, and even see camp in action — because we’ll have family group programs happening at the same time.
April is Autism Awareness Month
Did you know we offer spring and fall family camp weekends for families with members on the Autism Spectrum? Our “Spectrum Family Camp” provides structured and safe opportunities for families to bounce, splash, sing, hike, play, cartwheel, and explore together.
Easter Sunrise Service 2024
YMCA Camp Greenville staff, board members, volunteers, friends of camp, and thousands of online viewers enjoyed our sunrise service on Easter morning. Cory Harrison, our VP of Overnight Camping at Camp Greenville, gave the Resurrection Sunday message at Pretty Place Chapel as the sun rose over the hills Easter morning.
When Fire Is a Friend: Prescribed Burns at Camp
During the month of March, our maintenance and property team, partnering with the Cedar Mountain Fire Department, utilized their expertise to perform a small number of “prescribed burns” on the Camp Greenville property. Alumni Update: Bryson Reed
Cory Harrison (pictured left), VP of Overnight Camping at YMCA Camp Greenville, recently visited Bryson Reed (pictured right) in Florida.
Bryson is a staff alumni of Camp Greenville, working in 2020 and 2021. He now works as the Director of Operations for a private aviation company.
PACC: Staying Healthy at Camp
The Health Hut is the go-to place for all things health and wellness at camp. There are two registered nurses available 24/7, providing first aid, medication management, and emotional support for campers and staff.

The Camp Greenville leadership team had the privilege of attending the recent American Camp Association (ACA) conference in New Orleans, a gathering that brought together camp professionals, educators, and advocates from across the country to share insights, strategies, and the latest trends in the camping industry. Cory Harrison shares his reflections from the conference experience.
PACC: Self-Care and Routines
At home, your camper has YOU to give them gentle reminders, keep them focused on tasks, and doublecheck that they’ve got their tshirt on right-side-out before walking out the door; and that they’ve brushed their teeth and taken their meds before bedtime. Although their cabin leader will prompt morning and nighttime routine time, your camper will independently perform their daily tasks.

In early February, Adventure Guides dads “suited up!” and daughters brought the glitz and glamor to our annual Daddy + Daughter dance! In total, 161 attendees participated in the family fun evening, hosted at Zen in downtown Greenville.
