Our 10-Day Staff Training
As summer 2024 has arrived, YMCA Camp Greenville kicked off an exciting 10-day staff training program designed to prepare our incredible team for an unforgettable camp season. This year, we are thrilled to welcome a total of 100 summer staff, including 33 international staff members from 9 countries alongside our dedicated U.S. staff.

Enhanced Safety at Camp
We are thrilled to announce that Camp Greenville has received an incredibly generous donation of $28,000 from the YMCA of Greenville Foundation. This substantial contribution is earmarked for the implementation of a state-of-the-art emergency communication system, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone at camp.

Improvements Coming to Pretty Place Chapel Thanks to Grant
We are thrilled to announce that Camp Greenville has received a generous $200,000 grant from the Fred Symmes Foundation to bring much-needed improvements to the iconic Fred W. Symmes "Pretty Place" Chapel.
Advocating for Camps
As the Vice President of Overnight Camping for YMCA Camp Greenville and a member of the American Camp Association (ACA) Government Relations Board, Cory Harrison recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. This trip was not just a professional highlight but a pivotal moment in advocating for the issues that matter deeply to the camping community and the children and families we serve.

Cory Harrison Named VP of Overnight Camping
YMCA of Greenville announced this week the positional changes of several leadership team members, including our very own Cory Harrison's promotion to Vice President of Overnight Camping!
2024 Adventure Guides Campout
The Adventure Guides concluded the 2023-2024 season with a fun adventure packed weekend! A new addition to the program this year was the “Dad Olympics” - a thrilling weekend-long head-to-head competition of common dad-themed challenges. Pictured inside are the finalists for the Grilling Competition!
We Wear Blue!
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month: in a show of solidarity, camp staff wore blue to help recognize the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, so all kids can have a safe, healthy childhood!

We're sending out a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our Camp Greenville volunteers who helped prepare camp for the spring! Projects included cleaning cabins, cutting wood, power washing, staining new picnic tables and benches, and more!
